Wake up early! Have you ever noticed how much you get done when you are up really early in the morning? It is amazing how much less stressed I am when I am up before the kids and I can start to tackle my to do list before I have a 2 year old tugging at me 🙂 Waking up early may be difficult, but even 15 minutes of quite time, or time for YOU can make a big difference in your day. This is a GREAT book to help you master your mornings,
The Miracle Morning for Entrepreneurs: Elevate Your SELF to Elevate Your BUSINESS

Drink Water! Drinking enough water helps you sleep better, think clearer, decreases stress AND improves your mood! Why not have another glass?

Read Every Day!  Reading helps to reduce stress, losing yourself in a great book takes your mind off of the daily stress of our hectic lives.  The more knowledge you have, the better – equipped you are to tackle any challenge you face.  Reading is also FREE entertainment, we could all use a little more of this in our lives 🙂

Take Time off to Recharge! Everyone needs a little ME time to do whatever it is that helps you relax or destress.  Don’t let others tell you how to relax, do what makes you happy on your day off! Take a nap, go to the gym, run errands… but, try to avoid over indulging in alcohol, you might not feel refreshed at all when heading back to work the next day!

Celebrate Wins, Big and Small!  When you celebrate, endorphins are released inside your body and you feel incredible. As entrepreneurs, we are always looking forward, and we forget to celebrate when we hit big milestones.  Taking time to celebrate keeps us motivated and reduces burnout.  Plus, celebrating is FUN!

Maintain a Work-Life Balance! I feel like we are struggling to find this. It is so important to take a break from work. Take more small breaks during the day, and not to catch up on social media! Take a quick walk, grab a cup of tea or get some fresh air. Be mindful and be in the moment when you are at work and when you are at home.

Find a Mentor!  Staring a business or trying to advance in your career can be lonely and sometimes you have no idea which end is up! Find a mentor from the beginning. Find someone who is in the same industry and reach out to them, see if you can meet them for coffee or plan a 15 minute phone call. Hopefully they will feel honored and give you the time you are looking for 🙂 Facebook groups are also a great place to find mentors and others to collaborate with.

Smile!  Smiling is contagious! Smiling and laughter are beneficial for your mind, body and overall well-being. Even if you don’t feel like smiling, smile and you will reap the many health benefits!

Get Rid of Perfectionism! Check your OCD at the door is what I always say in my art classes, relax and have some fun! Perfectionism is so stressful because you are ALWAYS worrying about making things perfect, and you never truly feel satisfied. Life is a lot more enjoyable when you stop trying to be perfect. If you struggle with this, I love this book by Emily Ley, Grace, Not Perfection: Embracing Simplicity, Celebrating Joy

Know that it is OK to say NO! How many times have you made time for other people, but not for yourself?  Me too!! Too many times to count! Please if you take anything from this post, realize that it is ok to say NO. We live in a world that moves so fast, too fast, and we need to slow down and breathe! Prioritize your time and think before you are quick to say yes to ALL of the projects, meetings, dinners, lunches, ect.. that you can not fit into your already hectic schedule. Say yes to making time for YOU and YOUR priorities.

Please comment, tell me what your favorite GirlBoss habit is!!

Thank you for reading and I will see you soon xoxo ~Sarah
